To support its expansion, Walkiers & Wauthier is currently looking to welcome an Analyst/Associate to support the partners and work on all steps of M&A projects (from origination to execution) with significant client exposure. Interacting constantly and directly with the partners, you will have the opportunity not only to move into a dynamic and professional advisory boutique but also to develop your skills and to gain unparalleled experience in the fascinating world of Corporate Finance.

What you will do

Supporting marketing activities

  • Prepare and draft pitchbooks and other marketing materials. Among others:
    • conduct sector/industry analyses;
    • understand and summarize companies’ strategic positioning;
    • conduct thorough financial analyses;
    • compile qualitative and quantitative information on M&A activity;
    • produce relevant valuation support material
  • Draft detailed sector-focused materials
  • Prepare periodic updates of valuation materials (e.g. multiples of listed companies, multiples of announced M&A transactions)
  • Other: work together with the partners on new business opportunities and participate in the presentations made to prospects and existing clients

Assisting the partners in the execution of the transactions:

  • Prepare the transaction documentation (e.g. teasers, information memoranda, investment memoranda and other presentations)
  • Participate in the coordination of involved parties (clients, investors/sellers, external advisors including law firms, audit firms, consulting firms, financing providers)
  • Organize and manage the due diligence process
  • Support to final legal negotiations
  • Develop complex financial models (operating model, discounted cash flow, LBO model)

Education and Experience

  • Outstanding academic track record from a reputable university, business school or engineering school.
  • You completed at least one internship and have max 3 years of professional experience, ideally gained in corporate finance or consulting.

  • Strong modelling and financial skills
  • Attention to detail; ability to produce technically excellent written materials and present in a measured, clear and articulate way
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills (able to multi-task across different tasks and projects
  • Ability to work fairly autonomously with limited supervision
  • High trustworthiness and reliability with strong sense of integrity and confidentiality
  • Customer-minded with a flexible and energetic team-playing mentality
  • Curious and capable of self-examination
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships at all levels

Languages & IT

  • Fluency in English and French and/or Dutch.
  • Experience of MS Office, database
